In 2012, the Iowa Workforce Information Network, the website managed by the Iowa Workforce Development, released data indicating median and average Iowa math teacher salary expectations differing by just 6.6% at $67,910 and $72,760 respectively. The data also pointed to the fact that the lowest-level salaries, which are typically starting salaries, tend to range between $34,380 and $45,510. Similarly, experienced math teachers in the top 25% statewide averaged $90,300, and those in the top ten percent averaged 24% more at $119,470.
